News Komodo Island Is The New 7 Wonders Of The World - Mr Matthews spent months on the island throughout 2009 and 2010 taking cars, planes and boats to get to the remote island. Komodo Island Is The New 7 Wonders Of The World.
Expert: Mr Matthews, a wildlife photographer, used techniques perfected on squirrels and badgers |
Mr Matthews shot the photographs using a method he trialled on rather less intimidating subjects. Wide angle wildlife photography gives you a total different image and I think really works and give high impact. The dragons look even bigger when you get a close up wide angle shot, you see their massive scales and forked tongue. The Komodo dragon is a vulnerable species and is found on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. There are approximately 4,000 to 5,000 living Komodo dragons in the wild. Mr Matthews is currently working on a book on Corbett National Park in India and looking at getting a book project together on Norway.
